ToddlerWhy Does My Toddler Grizzle or Become Clingy?

Toddlers all go through a clingy and grizzly stage to some extent. Often a toddler will be clinging and grizzly as a demand for more attention, love and security. It may also mean that a child is not ready to separate from their parents yet. Sometimes when parents are stressed we want to be left alone which makes children more insecure. Always let your children know that you love them and they can come and have a cuddle anytime. If your child feels secure they are more likely to be happy to be away from you for longer periods of time. Give them attention when they don’t expect or ask for it. This will build up their confidence and reassure them too.

Trending Toddler Tantrums

Often when there have been some changes children will find this upsetting. Toddler tantrums are often linked to a new sibling in the house or parents fighting. Reduce any tension there may be between partners as children pick up on this. You can try and include your toddler in the fun things with the new baby which can help them develop a relationship. Having special time with your toddler without your new baby will also give your toddler reassurance you are still there for him or her.

Look at when the tantrum is happening and asks yourself is there something that you can do to prevent this from happening? Is the tantrum around dinner time? Is it around bath time? Changing your routine slightly may allow a more peaceful toddler. Spending more time with your toddler that is positive attention will also help break the cycle.
