Do you or your child experience fatigue, diarrhea, bloating, nausea, anaemia or irritability? These are just some symptoms of Coeliac Disease, an auto-immune disease where the body mistakenly produces antibodies that damage its own tissues.

Coeliac disease is one of the most under-diagnosed yet most common and chronic diseases. It affects approximately 1 in 100 Australians but 75% people don't know they have it! It is a permanent intestinal intolerance to dietary gluten, whereby the immune system reacts abnormally to gluten, causing small bowel inflammation and damage. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and oats.

LEDA Nutrition is a Gluten Free food company that has been producing gluten free snack foods for over 12 years. As there was very limited - and often not nice tasting - gluten free products on the market, LEDA set about creating ‘low allergy’ (& usually healthier) alternatives to products already on the market. For example Choc Chip cookies, Gingernut biscuits, and the more recent addition - gluten free fruit-filled soft baked twist bars “Nurture”.

We all know the other brands of baked twist bars, however Nurture is a much healthier option in more ways than one:

* free from gluten, wheat, dairy, lactose and egg
* contains 40% real fruit10 times more fruit than other twists
* no sulphites or preservatives
* no hydrogenated oils or palm oil - only Rice bran oil (rich in Omega 3's)
* no trans fats
* no artificial colours or flavours
* meets school canteen criteria (FOCiS)
* heart foundation approved

Nurture is an easy yet healthy lunch box filler, available in two flavours: Blueberry/ Goji and Apple/ Pomegranate. It has been given the ‘thumbs up’ from children both with and without Coeliac disease, because it doesn’t taste healthy..!
