I know first hand how destructive, painful and frightening bullying can be as I was bullied, and developed alopecia, when I first started at my secondary school aged 11...
I have seen parents at their wit’s end trying to deal with energetic children and their behaviour. I know exactly how they feel, because I have been one of those parents myself.
Children can often be overlooked when there is a world tragedy, family or school upset or when adults around them are dealing with relationship breakdown, separation issues, illness, grief or depression.
Sensitive kids worry about what others think of them. They often sense danger well before others and they see the consequences of behaviours well before their peers.
Ensure all meals and snacks throughout the day are balanced and contain foods that will sustain the child’s energy levels. Praise them for trying new food even if they don’t like it.
It is really important to establish a bed time routine. Once this is established children will feel safe and calm as they know what to expect and evenings will flow smoothly.
