In this day and age, do parents wrap their kids in too much cotton wool? Have Your Say below.

As Johanna said, there's a lot of bad stuff out there we need to protect our kids from. So while we may seem to be "mollycoddling" compared to previous generations, we're just moving with the times. More danger=more protection needed.

The other thing to factor in is how quickly kids are "growing up" these days. They act like teenagers well before they hit their teens, and so they're doing things I'd consider dangerous in attempt to be "grown up". And I'll do whatever I can to protect them from harm during the process.

Thanks for your comment Bill. As you said there's a lot of bad stuff to protect our children from and I think this makes it difficult to be as easygoing as previous generations were able to be. Makes you wonder what our children's children will be contending with.
