Our Christmas Eve ritual is to leave a letter with carrots and apples on the front door step for Santa, what does your family do?

We quieten down before the chaos of Christmas Day! Stockings out, bickies for Santa, reading the story of the first Christmas, a quiet song then early to bed. I always expect to have to resettle a few times - with so much excitement it's hard for little ones to fall asleep!

Hi,

We've had the same ritual for 18 years, sometimes I still have to shake myself when I realize that I have an 18 yr old daughter.

Every year we have a shared meal, pop on our PJ's and then head off in the car for a drive to look at all the houses decorated with lights.

Then we head home, write Santa a quick note and leave out a treat for his reindeer and then the younger kids happily and tiredly get into bed. Ironically this is the only time the kids are eager to go to bed, lol.

Mum and Dad help to get things ready for Santa's visit and then fall into bed just as tired and exhausted as the kids.

My 18 year old moved out on her own this year but she still came home for the Christmas Eve ritual and this year she added her own stamp with some home made egg nog, not very Aussie and not very nice tasting either. Next year we've agreed to add a shandy instead.

Cheers Kellz
