Childrens Birthdays Parties and all. 2 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 5

My DS will be 1 in under a month. I was going to have a small gathering with just family, but my DD (3yrs) decided that we needed a party. We are having a few friends with similar aged kids around. I was going to have a couple of games for the babies, fastest to empty a tissue box and who can roll the toilet roll longest distance. That is for the 1 year olds, and pass the parcel for the big kids, Do I need to provide more games etc for the big kids as it is a party for my 1 year old. Or will they be happy enough to play out the back.

Secondly does anyone have any suggestions of food to serve for a first bithday??

pass the parcel would be enough for the bigger kids. Maybe put out a craft or playdough etc. Kids are happy to run around after each other. for the food keep it simple as sausage sizzle, yoghurt, cheese finger foods for the little ones maby sandwiches.

Using biscuit cutters to make little sandwich shapes always works well. Most party food isn't ideal for one year olds, so I would stick with mini sandwiches, cheese sticks, and chopped fruit. Make sure you relax and have fun yourself!
