Investigating parents’ decisions regarding their child’s health behaviours
My name is Courtney Thomson and I am conducting my Honours project through the School of Psychology and Counselling at Queensland University of Technology. The aim of the project is to understand how parents make decisions for their children about the following health behaviours: physical activity, healthy eating and sun safety. The project has been approved by the university’s Human Research Ethics Committee (approval number 1000000364).
Your participation will involve completing an online questionnaire, which will take approximately 15-20 minutes. The study also involves a short follow up survey one week following your submission of the online questionnaire. The follow up survey will be conducted over the phone and will take approximately 5 minutes. If you consent to participate in the follow up questionnaire, please leave a contact number in the final section of the online questionnaire.
There are certain criteria for participating in the study. To partake you must be 17 years or older, and be the parent or guardian of a child/children aged 4 or 5 years old. You must also be a resident of Australia.
Upon completing the online questionnaire and follow up survey you have the opportunity to go into the draw to win 1 of 3 ‘decorate your own’ children’s hat or 1 of 2 $50 Coles gift cards.
If you meet the criteria and wish to participate in the study please click on the link below to complete the online questionnaire:
