As much as you’re dying to tell them to shove it, you’d be wise to avoid throwing in the towel career-wise or being too pushy with authorities on 3 August and jumping to conclusions about your (potential or ex) partner on 16 August.
You may not be particularly realistic about your love life this August. Apart from some hope for a fresh start love-wise with the New Moon on 10 August, there is only one major aspect happening and it’s a recipe for romantic wishful thinking! On 20 August, single Aries could fall in love at first sight with someone who is quite likely to be a former platonic friend or someone from a group, club or association you belong to. At best, they’re likely to be sweet, dreamy and a little hard to catch but you could easily be deceived by them or project your fantasies onto them. Good fun for romantic nookie for married Aries, though!
You might want to get a jump on routine administrivia before 20 August when Mercury goes retrograde. On 24 August the Full Moon suggests secrets might bring you and someone powerful closer. You’ve got the willpower to blaze ahead with work projects with VIPs willing to back you all the way on 26 August. Now’s the time to go after it but be aware you may not get things set in stone until Mercury goes direct on 13 September.
More than ever before, you’ll be focused on your partner (or lack of one) this August. You may feel your precious independence and freedom being whipped away on 4, 7, and 9 August, as you also face off boss or career demands on 4, 10 and 21 August. Your partner may need you to give a commitment on 8 August but the sparks will be back – finally! – with the sexiest night of all on 20 August. Woohoo – it is smokin’! Date Night Supreme, indeed.

taurus

OK, let’s be honest. Do you want to get out of the rat-race? Are you feeling over-worked and under-appreciated? I’d be guessing you feel like running away from everything! 3 August is definitely not the day to side-step your problems by escaping your problems by escaping on a plane, train or automobile, while you may need to count to ten with tiresome colleagues or a go-slow situation at work on 16 August.

Has someone been sweet-talking you about going after a more glamorous job? Have you been dreaming about a career change? This month, there is – amazingly – only one aspect on 20 August, which points to happily and innocently accepting a glamorous role, not realising it will impact your family. Others could be unrealistic about what that position really entails. If what you really crave is more beauty and glamour, why not incorporate it into a special dedicated space at home? Work-at-home mothers could find the perfect solution, selling fantasy, glamour and escapism online.

Your kids may be naughtier than usual once Mercury goes retrograde on 20 August, sending you back to square one with some behavioural problems.

Coupled Taureans could also find themselves having a rehash of old issues to do with romance: not getting enough of it – while single Taureans could be alarmed that a potential lover seems to go AWOL, at least until 13 September when Mercury goes direct, while exes seem to pop up everywhere! On 26 August, you could have the deepest yearnings ever to empower yourself by going (back to) university, to travel or to work on a publishing project. Other Taureans could have their lives transformed by a very positive legal matter.

And guess what? It’s time for you to look good naked! Three planets are pushing you to go on a diet, quit smoking, join a gym or lace up your runners to improve your overall health. The best days for this are 8 and 20 August (especially the latter when you could meet someone very appealing on your health kick). Beware of pushing yourself too hard exercise-wise, or being too extreme with dieting on 4, 7, 9 and 10 August.

gemini

As tempted as you are, don’t get into debt with credit card-melting activities with friends on 3 August. You may have to balance having fun with your friends with paying attention to your lover on 16 August.

You may start doing a lot of writing, presenting or talking (yes, even more than normal!) following the New Moon of 10 August. If you’re emailing someone involved in publishing (offline or online) or overseas, be aware that you will not be seeing things clearly on 20 August. Don’t get lulled by a charming “yes-person” to whatever you ask. Get written confirmation.

If you have to deal with (new) flatmates, real estate agents, architects or tradies or discussions about moving in together, you may want to finalise arrangements before 20 August when Mercury goes retrograde. On 24 August the Full Moon suggests you may have to make a decision regarding how your career impacts your family or household. A good-natured family member will help you, maybe even loan you money for an investment, on 26 August. Keep in mind that that home-related issues may not get finalised until after Mercury goes direct on 13 September.

You’re likely to invest quite a bit of energy and stamina into your love life this August. Don’t circle Date Night for 4, 7 and 9 August when your partner feels like he or she is competing for your attention with your friends while you may also feel uncomfortably “obliged” sexually on 4, 10 and 21 August. Your children could cost you an arm and a leg then, too. Single Gemini parents who really want to settle down can’t go past 8 August for meeting a keeper. Falling in love at first sight or all over again will be irresistible on 20 August. PLEASE do something special!

cancer

Keen to make a move with your career? You may want to take risks but a cranky older family member does not. And someone who you know very well could also be against your plans. Avoid career-expansion ultimatums with your partner on 3 August and from freaking out Nanna or Granddad or caving into guilt trips about your goals on 16 August.

Expect a bit more jingle in your pockets after the New Moon on 10 August. This is an excellent time to look into credit card repayment plans, refinancing, bonuses, discounts, rebates and refunds. Beware of getting involved with seductive managed funds, share portfolios and investment properties on 20 August when get-rich-quick schemes will be oh-so-tempting.

Count to ten if your laptop breaks down, you wipe a database or flush your iPhone down the toilet once Mercury goes retrograde on 20 August. Mistakes will happen laughably easy but you may not find it funny if you lose papers to do with a planned holiday or a legal matter on the Full Moon of 24 August. I love 26 August for you to discuss far-reaching topics with your partner. And it is ideal for you to think carefully how you could attract the support of powerful allies with websites, blogs, brochures, facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, networking, and media.

At the same time you’re keen to get on with it in the career stakes, you may have a lot of action at home. Someone may be upset you’re not doing your share of the housework (and kids’ homework) on 4, 7 and 9 August thanks to career demands while you could have tension with a family member disapproving of your (new) partner on 4, 10 and 21 August.

Create an old-fashioned family dinner on 8 August to get the troops back on-side and take care to invite the oldies too! If you’re house-hunting you may fall in love with the perfect home on 20 August and homewares could prove very enticing. For married Cancerians, this is an ideal date to have a tete-a-tete dinner at home, turning off your mobiles to look into each other’s eyes over the candlelight.

leo

Happy birthday Leo! Hands up who wants a holiday? That many of you?! Well, that itch to jump on a plane to escape somewhere must be just about insatiable. Unfortunately you may have a demanding boss who won’t grant you annual leave or a sneaky health problem that flares up, making travel difficult on 3 August. And if you were hoping to cash in your frequent flyer points, you may get nyet to that from your travel agent or airline on 16 August. September may be a little easier, holiday-wise and better for money, too.

I am mortified to report that the planets are so busy elsewhere that only the Sun is around until 23 August to help you celebrate your birthday and it makes only one aspect all month which is 20 August. If you throw your birthday party that night, it will be a monster night for romance and dancing with plenty of hangovers the next day which makes it obviously a fabulous party but you’ll have to keep in mind that like Cinderella, everyone you thought was so hot could well turn into a pumpkin the next day. I’ll leave that up to you but I do love the idea of you having a Gorgeousness Fest on the New Moon of 10 August. Go on, book that facial, mani/pedi, hairdo, massage, scrub, tan and style consultant and splurge on some new clothes.

Try not to sign anything finance-related once Mercury goes retrograde on 23 August and have some cash reserves tucked away in your undie drawer. As soon as 24 August you could be very upset about a cash shortfall, possibly caused by your partner’s over-spending, or a debt you’ve been counting getting paid won’t be until Mercury goes direct on 13 September! However, 26 August is very good for discussing money issues with your boss and working out what talents you can bring to the table and how much they should be remunerated. If you need bolstering, see a recruiter to find out your worth in the market. Curiously enough, a lack of money may be making you put on weight. Lose weight/get healthy = make more money.

Some of the squabbling that happens on 4, 7 and 9 August could be due to major impatience around a travel issue, legal matter, website, or overseas clients. On 4, 10 and 21 August, someone is being manipulative and domineering at work. Use the wonderful 8 August to restore equilibrium and decorum thank you very much.

If you’ve ever wanted to seduce someone over the net, the phone or email, 20 August is your day. It reminds me of Roxanne, where a cleverly-written, heart-felt note won the heroine’s love. Tell someone you love them and watch the fireworks in their eyes.

virgo

Ooh-er – check out what Virgo’s wearing! Virgo is tired of being the goody-two-shoes virgin and wants to be a sassy strumpet! If you’re “dying” for some sexual healing, you could be very frustrated with the routine on 3 August with a lover who demands more soul-searing declarations of love before they’ll leap into bed, and find a temporary money dry-up does the same thing to bedroom action on 16 August.

Take some time out for yourself to regenerate, dream and plan on the New Moon of 10 August. You could feel quite uninterested in catching up with anyone then. On 20 August you’ll be tired of someone sweet-talking their way out of routine tasks (and presumably leaving it all up to you). Some of you may receive a tempting job offer then but get more concrete info before you do anything.

Why? On the same day, Mercury goes retrograde, suggesting it may be until it goes direct again on 13 September that you can achieve your goals. On 24 August the Full Moon creates a surprise in your relationship arena. Singles may finally meet someone while coupled-up Virgos could sense a need for some excitement to keep things fresh. I love 26 August for regenerating romance – and maybe even for getting pregnant! That is a fab day to chujz your appearance, especially with a facial, haircut or new clothes to wow your lover later on.

Try to hold your tongue when it comes to finance as you could be rather impatient about money matters now. Do not – repeat – NOT go shopping for fashion (or anything else) with a passion on 4, 7, and 9 August as you could empty your hard-earned (joint) accounts finding that cha-ching irresistible! And don’t let your kids or lover wheedle you into over-spending on 4, 10 and 21 August.

You’ll be keen to build a financial foundation for the future on 8 August, and excellent day to sign a mortgage or a long-term investment. Use your charm and sex appeal to get a discount, refund, rebate, bonus, mates’ rates or special deal on a possession you adore on 20 August. Your partner may also surprise you with a gift to get you in the mood..

libra

Your natural role is playing peace-maker which is a good thing as your talents could be stretched to the limits this month! Single Librans are going crazy looking for a new partner while many coupled Librans want a pass and some breathing space. Try to sidestep ultimatums by authoritarian family members on 3 August and try to understand if your own fears of taking your relationship in a new direction are preventing you from growing on 16 August. A balance of relationship responsibilities and personal freedom is necessary.

Look forward to a four-week line-up of social outings with the New Moon on 10 August, a time when you might widen your circle with new pals. If you do get invited out drinking and dancing on 20 August, keep in mind that you could wake up with a major hangover the next day if you do more of the former and less of the latter! Single Librans on blind date set-ups could well fall for their new companion at first sight. Take your time to get to know them as they could be impossibly glamorous or have a substance abuse problem.

The dreaded Mercury retrograde phenomenon starts again on 20 August. This is prime time for you to accidentally blurt out a confidence or to unwittingly discover juicy gossip. Be careful revealing your plans on the Full Moon of 24 August when you could be in for a surprise at work. Colleagues may have some shock value announcements of their own. A powerful day to talk with your lover or children about something has been bothering you is 26 August. They will sense the need change and improvement and anyway, you’ll know the tactful way to say it.

You could become surprisingly impatient for change during August. You want to feel like your life is progressing and that you have things to look forward to. If things feel stale, you may push for a proposal, a holiday or some other event that whips up the excitement factor on 4, 7, and 9 August. At the same time, you may be struggling against simmering resentments at home regarding someone not pulling their weight on 4, 10 and 21 August.

Single Librans could be now-or-never regarding a relationship on 8 August while married Librans want to feel “team” commitment. And you MUST circle 20 August for the most sizzling night of 2010. Get your hair/nails/wax/tan etc and enjoy the sexiest night ever when your ability to charm and attract the opposite sex is at record levels. Love is sooooo in the air.

scorpio

There’s quite a bit of activity going on at the work front. Unfortunately if you’ve been promised a promotion, transfer or an overseas work conference, 3 August is the worst day to lash out at corrupt powers-that-be about disappointing setbacks as it will not be forgotten and forgiven. You’ll have to count to ten then and on 16 August when you could have a private chat with a VIP that thwarts your plans for world domination (sorry, getting ahead). If you work for yourself, you will have to bring your breakneck pace of projects back to a mere trot.

With the New Moon on 10 August you are keen for a new direction and have a renewed wish to increase your status and profile. You have a 10-day window to make some moves forward but on 20 August you could have a career goal dampened by a guilt trip from family members, particularly if it involves overtime. If you work at home, clients may feel uneasy dealing with you then, especially if you seem uncharacteristically flaky, vague or unreliable.

Expect to hear from old pals once Mercury goes retrograde on 20 August. People that you used to see could come out of the woodwork and you may visit some old stomping grounds for a sweet case of nostalgia. Surprise your kids with a group visit to the zoo, aquarium, movies or ice-skating rink on the Full Moon on 24 August, just for something completely different. Count on a level-headed friend to be even more forthright than you on 26 August when they can clearly see the answer to something that’s been mystifying you.

Are you having an affair? Fantasising about someone? Suffering from unrequited love or unwilling to make a new lover public just yet? You could shy away from taking them to your usual places or making them part of your usual routine (ie breakfast at the local cafe etc) on 4, 7, and 9 August while married Scorpios desperately want time to themselves. If you’re afraid of being asked, “Where is this going?” then you might want to avoid seeing them at all on 4, 10 and 21 August when someone will be asking the hard answers – or giving harsh answers.

There is a karmic “weight” to relationships that you will have to consider on 8 August but if you’re ready to get hot’n’heavy, the best date of all is 20 August. Turn the phone off, pull the blinds down, and um, I’ll leave you to it!

sagittarius

You’ll be wanting to explore love and take risks on romance all month, but 3 August suggests your self-worth and/or salary desires are possible obstacles while long-time friends may disapprove of your (new) lover or kids on 16 August. Some Sagittarians may be disappointed to find that what they had long dreamt of does not actually bring them joy.

One thing that DOES bring you joy is a little holiday and you could be packing your bags for a trip interstate or overseas following the New Moon of 10 August. Other Sagittarians could be getting fresh news on a legal matter, some may enrol into university while yet others will start work on a new website or blog. Watch out for slippery, silvery-tongued types on 20 August – the type who promises the world (wide web or a frequent-flier trip around it.)

20 August is the day to down tools and take your foot off the project pedal with Mercury going retrograde. You may not get final sign-offs until Mercury goes direct on 13 September, which will be about the day the client, supplier or agent gets back to you or returns from sick or annual leave. Your family could shock you with an announcement on the Full Moon of 24 August. Let things settle until 26 August when you will have a clearer understanding of what is going on. This is a fantastic day to get moral support from someone powerful in your industry, and maybe even negotiate for more money, a bigger account or mates’ rates.

Are you being invited to more social functions that usual? Arranging group get-togethers? Getting your calendar booked up? I bet you’re juggling more friends than usual. Your kids may make the plaintive cry, “You’re always going out!” on 4, 7, and 9 August, while 4, 10 and 21 August could prove expensive as you struggle to keep up with The Joneses. See an old friend or join a club that you intend to be part of for years on 8 August and you could have one of the THE flirtiest and fun dinner parties ever on 20 August. And if you happen to be single, there is no better night to be match-made by your friends or to try the thrills of a speed-dating event!

capricorn

Does someone want to move, renovate, change or expand your household in some way? You could be frustrated  by your family pushing for a bigger house, flatmates making outrageous demands, the real estate agent giving you bad news or the council refusing to approve your plans on 3 August. You want to make your family or flatmates happy on 16 August but clients, over-time or an important project vie for your time.

Schedule a chat about joint finances following the New Moon of 10 August. Whether it’s working out how much you need to afford retirement, getting insurance or starting a special savings plan to invest in property, you’ll be on the look-out for financial vehicles that let you pool your money with others. Do not sign anything on 20 August as it is likely to be a seductive get-rich-quick scheme.

Book, triple-confirm and depart for your holidays if possible before Mercury goes retrograde on 20 August. If you leave until then and 13 September, it’s more than likely that your frequent flier points won’t go in the system, your hotel is overbooked and you miss or get bumped off your (connecting) flight. The Full Moon of 24 August is decision-time, possibly on a legal matter and you may surprise everyone with your choice. By discovering new places (physically or mentally) on 26 August you could feel quite transformed – and definitely sexy!

You’re motivated beyond belief to achieve an even higher level of status. You could well fight your family’s demands for you to stay at home (more) on 4, 7, and 9 August. If you miss an important celebration then tempers could flare. Equally, you’re in a take-no-prisoners mood with the folks at home on 4, 10 and 21 August. Look for a wonderful long-term career opportunity on 8 August but take care to make your partner feel you are “doing it for both of your futures”.

If you’re single you could fall in love at first sight with a client or superior at work while married Capricorns could have a new reason to dress up in the morning on 20 August. Take your partner out to celebrate your success that night.

aquarius

Ideas, information and paperwork will be coming at you thick and fast this month. You’re impatient to share these ideas and projects with others but something on 3 August is better left unsaid – or unshared – for now. Less said, quicker forgiven (or something similar). Again, you’ll be busting to text, email or call loved ones overseas on 16 August but it could descend into a “you should...” preaching session. Some of you may have delays or disappointments around travel, higher education, legal matters or publishing projects then.

Aquarian couples are due for a reboot on the New Moon of 10 August. For singles, it’s the best time to try new dating activities that will help you team up with a lovely new partner – and more is the merrier – while married Water-Bearers want to forgive, forget and move on to a new chapter together. 20 August sees you being uncharacteristically misty-eyed over your (potential) partner, blessing them with qualities they may not have. Nice for a dinner, wine and dancing night though if you remember to treat their pillow talk afterwards with a pinch of salt!

That same night on 20 August, Mercury goes retrograde. Be very careful that you don’t go guarantor or in some other way take on financial responsibilities for your partner between now and 13 September as the paperwork will have fine print you can’t anticipate. At the same time, you may have to “pay up” over some earlier transgression you’ve forgotten about!

The Full Moon on 24 August suggests you can finally agree that over-spending has to stop. You could have a dream, intuitive flash or sudden insight about a money matter relating to shared funds on 26 August. Perhaps you discover you’re owed more money than you thought but it is all positive or you find out about an as yet unused avenue to get you access to government funds, grants or loan schemes. Oh – and if you have someone to curl up in private, you’ll enjoy that very much as well!

If you’re planning a holiday – can it wait? Don’t argue with the natives, airline employees, Customs officers, hoteliers or foreign officials on 4, 7, and 9 August, when you could be extremely impatient to get on your way and for goodness sake, declare everything on 4, 10 and 21 August as the slightest lies of omission could see you shipped back to whence you came!

You can safely discuss future holiday plans with your partner and schedule travel arrangements for later on 8 August (but not today as it is sandwiched within a bunch of tedious aspects). Of all the nights in August, on 20 August if you cannot get away somewhere exotic for a dirty weekend, book a French, Moroccan, Italian or Spanish restaurant where you can gaze into each other’s eyes and speak the language of love. Complimentary chocolates on your pillow are optional.

piscies

Every 12 years or so, Pisceans undergo an unusual transformation (well, even faster when they’ve had a drink or two) when they become uncharacteristically interested in money. You want to make more moolah – lots of it! – and you’re impatient to know the secret to wealth. One of them is not to hang out with expensive friends who drink your wallet dry on 3 August! The other is to look for a long-term wealth-building strategy with others and realise there are no quick fixes on 16 August.

You could be hunting for a new job, researching a new industry, asking for new responsibilities or meeting new colleagues following the New Moon of 10 August. If you’re perfectly happy where you are, it’s the ideal time to kick off a New You body-wise with exercise, diet, medical check-ups and a ban on chocolate, alcohol, cigarettes, brie or the vice of the day. A smiley co-worker or client could prove incredibly appealing on 20 August but you may need to check they are actually available before you can start starring them in your personal fantasy (well, I guess there’s no harm in that).

Single Pisceans might find past lovers want another chance once Mercury goes retrograde on 20 August while coupled Pisceans suffer a re-run of old issues (“we’re discussing this again?!”) until Mercury goes direct on 13 September. You could insist your (potential) partner makes more effort with your relationship and you on the Full Moon of 24 August. A powerful friend, group or even an expressed wish could manifest the type of relationship you want on 26 August.

In general you’ll be striving valiantly to earn and save more money all month. However, single Pisceans could be horribly tempted to waste money to um, charm the pants off someone, while coupled Pisceans could also be appalled by their partner’s careless frittering on 4, 7 and 9 August. Save for a rainy day: money in the bank is worth money in the bank if that makes sense. Some of you could find bills mount up thanks to “friends” who are all too happy to have you shout them treats but mysteriously disappear when it’s their turn to pay while others could be shocked by the size of debts they can’t service on 4, 10 and 21 August.

Sitting down to do taxes and financial paperwork on 8 August is not only strategic but even sexy. It’s easy to be receptive to um, mergers when you know where you stand debt-wise. I expect you should have fireworks, passion and magic on the absolutely smoking hot 20 August when Venus and Mars leap into bed together to do the wild thing. Do. Not. Waste. Tonight. Watching. TV.
