Dear Readers...

Our New Years poll results confirmed that 63% of you made losing weight one of your New Year resolutions and I can confirm, after losing 12 kilos over the past 12 weeks (yay!), that planning is the key ingredient to successfully shedding those pesky kilos. Lunch Boxes are a great way to pre plan and keep you eating healthy food. If your kids are starting school this week the lunch box will be a keen topic in your household, so why not prepare yourself a healthy lunchbox too, even if you are a stay at home Mum. Yes I know most mothers don’t make themselves a priority but if we don’t look after ourselves who’s going to look after the kids? My kids love peeping into my lunchbox to see what I’m having, we swap ideas and plan our little treats too, it’s fun.

This week’s eNews is all about ‘The Lunchbox’, with some great tips and ideas. I hope you enjoy it and leave some suggestions in our forums to inspire us... click here to leave a post in our forum.

Tips To Keep Lunch Boxes Bacteria Free

Make your child’s lunch the night before and store in the fridge until it’s time to set off to school.

Keep an iced drink bottle or freezer brick in the lunch box or cooler bag to keep contents chilled for as long as possible.

Never re-use or put un-eaten food back in the fridge after school. Create an afternoon routine with chores for your child to complete such as put your shoes away, empty your lunch box and wash your hands.

Ask your child’s class teacher if lunchboxes can be stored in a cool cupboard or at least in the classroom rather than outside in the heat and sun

Select a lunch box which is a cooler rather than the standard plastic box .
