Dear Readers...

Last year I found myself feeling a little jaded around the consumerism of our festive season. My neighbour (a single father) snapped me out of it by delivering to our door step a huge potted sunflower and 2 very cute bamboo plants for my children. It felt so special when I opened the door and found his offering on our doorstep, it was an authentic display of friendship and it touched our hearts.
This year we are approaching gift giving from a different perspective. We have already started planning; the children and I are busy making jams, potted plants and artworks. It’s so much fun and the joy of planning and working together as a family is the biggest gift of all.
Avoiding crowded shopping centres and short tempered people rushing ‘here and there’ is a priority for us this year, I am totally over it and will purchase any remaining gifts online in the comfort of my home(I won’t say peace and quiet as I have 2 kids, a dog and a cat). We decided to produce an affordable gift edition of enews to give you a few ideas before the dreaded countdown to ‘the big day’ I hope you find it useful and find some gorgeous gifts for your nearest and dearest. |

| In Slippin' on the Lino, Jane spills the beans on the truth behind the closed doors of parenting; doors which, for her, emitted all kinds of noises including laughter, crying, roars of frustration, squeals of delight and actually, quite an alarming variety of animal noises if truth be told; which it is, in Slippin’ on the Lino. |
