Emily turned 8 in March. She is at an in between party stage, a bit too ‘old’ for play centres but too young for a movie and meal with a few friends. She wanted to invite 8-10 friends so I decided to try something different, a Japanese dress up Teppenyaki dinner $15 per head at 7pm on a Friday evening. The girls had a fantastic time, they felt very grown up and all looked so cute. The parents loved it as they didn’t lose a Saturday afternoon, we were all done and dusted by 8.30 and the Japanese birthday cult was born within my local community.
Kids parties can be very stressful for parents, keeping an eye on and taking care of a bunch of hyped up Batmen or Fairies takes it’s toll on even the most organised Mums and Dads. Sadly we live in a culture where more is often considered better. Kids parties are not competitive sports; no one gets a prize for hosting the most extravagant. Kids will always have a great time being the centre of attention no matter what your budget allows so this week we have put together some tips and found some very innovative products to consider for your next party... like chocolate pasta!!
From the Team at Parenting Australia we wish you a wonderful Easter Break and Happy Egg Hunting!
